Has anyone got a refurbished console?

Preferably a 60GB cos mine which I got today and the fan is making an ungodly sound.

It's running at such a high RPM that if it had momentum it would simply take off

is there decent space left all around the console? My 60GB used to make some noise when i kept it in a unit but since i moved it to completely open top shelf, much quieter

Yeah it gets plenty of air and there's nothing blocking the vents or anything

    I had the same..
got a refurb'd unit the weekend before the slim came out.
Fan was unbelievably loud as soon as I started a game.
The screws for the HDD caddy were rounded, so I couldn't change the drive.

Traded in to preorder for Slim the next day as I couldn't put up with that.

Did it cost you much to trade it in against the slim cos I can't stand this fan.

It drowns out the tv at this stage so I'm keeping my housemates up when I'm doing a late night session
