I'm going spreading this link on every boards thread about cutting fat:
    http://forum.bodybuilding.com/showthread.php?t=113693871
    - Workout 3 times a week with weights.
    - Eat 1g protein / lb lean body mass.
    - Reduce calories to lose 1-2 lbs / week.

    Disregard everything else people say.

    Thats nice.
But some rather knowledgeable people on here on the subject have already shot point 1 out of the water.

And the disregard everything else people say bit is a bit harsh really, seeing as that info is very vague indeed.

And there is better info in the stickies already.

what point was shot out of the water? i think the stickies go to too much extremes for your average overweight lad who wants to cut fat.

Work out 3 times a week with weights.
A number posters have either gotten results or knew someone/a few people who have gotten good results, without weights.

Some people don't like weight training.

And I disagree, the stickies give good information and tips.

I mean, how does one go about reducing calories to loose 1-2lb a week?
To most people who want to loose a bit fat, eating whole unprocessed food, stopping eating when you are full, makes sense.
When I needed to loose weight the most, I didn't give a **** about calories or what I weighed. I lost 2 stone without weights, calorie tracking or any awareness of a particular increase in protein consumption

I'm not saying its wrong, just that you are inferring that its the only way that works and anyone who says different is wrong. There are plenty of approaches that work. Which has been alluded to be respected fitness professionals in other threads here.
