Comreg did not bother telling anyone about their contribution to this recentish document from the EU Regulators Group even though Comreg are about to waste everybodys time running this EU body next year and make us all look like a pack of morons :( Still if it keeps John Doherty out of the country explaining NGN to people who know better it may have merit !

Anyway that little jolly for Doherty was about this document below .

    http://erg.ec.europa.eu/doc/publications/erg_09_17_nga_economic_analysis_regulatory_principles_report_090603_v1.pdf

Nice comparative summary from page 191 of 211 onwards ( annex 2) , on page 197 we see Comreg lying to everybody when they say that 37 exchanges are to be enabled for VDSL or VDSL/Ethernet and covering 40% of the population.

You would have to enable well over 100 exchanges to cover 40% of the population ...a less dishonest bunch than Comreg would have clarifed that the largest 37 exchanges cover 40% of Lines not 40% of people !!! But hey , why not simply lie like always Comreg ???

Then Comreg tell us that decisions on Duct Access and Dark Fibre access are all pending, they have not even indicated that they will start to consult on these never mind decide anything .

We do not know what Doherty said because he hadn't the courtesy to provide the conference with powerpoints afterwards :(

Comreg published their own pathetic NGN effort around then.

Should we bring Doherty Back to do the day job we pay <.cg snip> [him] €280k a year to do and can Shane Move the motion in the Seanad PDQ ????
