    Dolans confirm bad news:

    Hi Music Lovers

It is with heavy heart that I write this mail to you as contrary to online rumours Modest Mouse will not be playing Dolans this December.

There was a whisper of it happening some weeks ago but in the end the band have decided to play just Dublin this time around. We will endeavour to catch them on their next European tour.

In the meantime try to console yourselves with all the other wonderful gigs we have over the next few months.

As always, if anything else wonderful happens with Dolans, you will be the first to know!

    TD

Galway gig is up on Ticketmaster now. Not for sale yet.

Looks like it's in the Radisson.

whew.. thank god for the Tuesday gig

Gutted that Limerick was cancelled. I got an early confirmation from someone while at EP that they would be coming December and it got me giddy. Wonder what the problem is, would loved to have seen them locally and in such a venue.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,860 ✭✭✭glanman

I dont know what the problem was but the manager just said it died a death that they hadn't heard anything in a longtime about it. Initially they thought it would happen but not to be as of the moment.

    Hey Guys,

if anyone is interested in going to the galway gig buy your tickets through roisindubh.net, they are only 23 euro.

Got burnt earlier, thought they were only available on ticketmaster and paid 28 euro for a ticket plus 3.50 booking charge.

    Be warned!

Ah now lads. Since Frightened Rabbit sold out the Academy themselves already recently, what do you think they plus Modest Mouse were going to do?

Get thee to toutless.com to try and purchase tickets I say.

I think pretty much every time a gig sells out there's always people who say the same thing. Thing is people don't know the capacity of the venues. Academy main room can hold 650 people and 200 in the balcony. So that's 850 tickets per night which is nothing really when you think of the amount of music fans in Dublin alone.

So has anyone posted the other mainstay of this forum and given out in advance about how all the other members of the crowd will not be as big a fan as he/she and will only be there for Float On? :D

Hey Gugai, is the gig on in the big ballroom in the Radisson. I went to see Richard Hawley there last year and the sound was brutal. Its like a big shed.

    Got two tickets anyhow.

I spoke to the events manager yesterday and he said it is the ballroom. I haven't been there so I questioned him how good a venue it is and he was all praise, obviously. He said it has been redesigned as a concert venue and that they are targeting the market in a big way. I hope this means that the place has improved since you were there...

I now have 4 Galway tickets and 4 Dublin tickets. I will probably sell the Dublin ones now as a Monday is a disaster for a non-pale dweller:) Academy is great place so pity I won't be going, really hope the radission isn't a let down. magine how good it would have been in the Roisin Dubh:eek:

Ahh, it would have been deadly in Roisins alright.

When i was there last the light fittings in the roof were rattling with the bass and the sound got a bit lost in general. Could have been down to poor sound engineering too, but i've seen Hawley a few times before and his sound had always been excellent.

the galway venue better be up to scratch, monday night in dublin is a pain in the ar$e. I got 4 for both, saturday night in the west seems a lot handier, should not be too much trouble off loading the dublin tickets;)

Ya we got their about 10 mins late and i expected to be miles at the back, but i could easily walk 2/3's of the way in without putting anyone out. FR came down into the crowd to play a song or two as well

Settled on getting tickets for Galway, Saturday night beats a Monday/Tuesday in Dublin and having to take time off work.

I panic bought the Monday night tickets the second they went on sale to be sure (based in Dublin so no biggie). Would nearly rather the night in Galway now though!

Has the Galway show sold out yet?

Nah I got mine today through http://www.Roisindubh.net cause it's cheaper than TM. Not sure how big the Radisson is for gigs but it's obviously bigger than RD.

1,100 people according to the radission event manager.

I think they have a certain amount allocated for online sale. There might still be a few available over the counter.

Hope the Raddisson venue isn't totally void of a good atmosphere. Seeing Modest Mouse in the Róisín Dubh would be unbelievable!

How long does it take tickets vendors to send out tickets. I ordered Modest Mouse tickets and am wondering when do they send them out?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,853 ✭✭✭messrs

depends sometimes they send them out within a week but if you book for gig way in advance, tickets mite not be printed yet so you would have to wait till closer to the time to get them

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,860 ✭✭✭glanman

    Changed:)

The gig is on in 7th December.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,853 ✭✭✭messrs

if gig not till dec, id say tickets mite not be posted out to you till November sometime

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 986 ✭✭✭Qprmeath

It varies a lot. Got Gift Grub tickets yesterday which is on in about 6 weeks in Vicar Street, whereas I got Spandau Ballet in the o2 tickets about 3 weeks before the event.

I've ordered tkts with tktmaster quite a bit and in some cases they are not sent for months but if you have an account with them you can log in and check to see if they have been posted.
