Hi guys I thought I read on here recently about how its okay to extend a 6 month tourist visa to a 12 month one while in Australia without too much trouble. The thing is I've been going through the threads for about an hour now and can't seem to track it down again. could anyone shed any light on this - did I imagine it?…

could anyone shed any light on this - did I imagine it?
I'm currently applying for a 6 month one for my partner - it was originally a 12 month one but I changed it as immigration warned me that they put some sort of restriction on the 12 month visa if that swhat you go on initially
