Never liked Steve Irwin. He tormented animals as some kind of circus for his audiences, eventually going too far.

Not fit to polish Attenborough's shoes in my opinion.

Tormented?? The guy loved every living thing on the planet. Not once did i ever see tormenting an animal. He would sometimes pick a snake up to show people what the looked like, the snake would sometimes take a swipe at him. But that is just self defence on the snakes part, and if he saw an animal getting stressed he would let them go on their way.

He obviously made a fatal mistake while encountering the stingray.

Ive seen him drive into bush fires to rescue the smallest of lizards, go with his team to indonesia and other pacific countries to rescue many animals from horrible circumstances in captivity. He has a Greenpeace boat and a 135,000 Hectare wildlife reserve named after him.

I can understand if he annoyed you, (he was a little over the top), but to say he's "not fit to polish Attenborough's shoes", is very very harsh

Steve Irwin was a bit of a big game hunter and I did not enjoy his programmes either.

Nonetheless , he is a genuine icon and fits in but whether or not he will endure is something else.

On circuses, these clowns are icons
