Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

How did that become popular?!

So, is there anything that became fashionable and you simply cannot see the appeal?

I get that many things that are 'in' are rotten to the core. Still, with most, I see why they might become widely used/liked. I personally hate the song 'Human', but I can see that people might enjoy the catchy tune, for example.

I don't get the whole Emo thing at all. Some argue that it's an excuse for self indulgence, but so are most of those trends. It doesn't look well, and it doesn't even have a focus in enjoyment/achievement.

    What don't you get?

I don't understand the obsession. In my opinion, they're monotonous and dull.

Digital photo-frames. I like gadgets, and I'm a gadgetholic, but these things are over-priced tack.

Oh, and another - Michael Bay films.

Too many special effects, not enough substance.

    Absolute drivel!

It would have been weird if they were calling the '80s films' back in the 80s

Yeh, skinny jeans on men. Bleeuuurgh. Even worse when teamed with a black and white houndstooth 'cardi' and a thin tie and high top converse.....Chr1st...look in the mirror boys....it looks tragic...and not manly....at all.

Also fellas using GHD's on their hair and going on sunbeds.

    Just. No.

Leggings have appeal because they're tight and show off legs nicely. I fail to see why they need to be shiny, metallic or look "wet" - makes them disgustingly tacky.

Also, there's a difference between a model at a photo shoot wearing the product and an average woman, walking around town in them. That "difference" being a lack of airbrushing... and about five stone!

    +1 And their fake versions.

I've seen women / girls / whatever even wearing these over the summer and I thought it was fcuking ridiculous looking. Granted, there was little sun to speak of, but it was still far too warm for them.

Oh, and they are hideous looking in general.

 Rugby is an excellent game!

Football is the issue, or footballers, rather:

Just clothes in general. Why can't everyone wear black jumpers + blue jeans like me to avoid all this "fashion" nonsense.

    Also, question marks.

    Graphic Novels.

It really pisses me off when people insist on calling comics "graphic novels." Look, it's the quality of the material that legitimizes an art form. Not after forcing respectability upon the industry will people actually look at comics in the same earnest light as literature and cinema. You never hear people bitching about the use of the word "movies" do you?

Most of the blokes on here wish women all walked around dressed like your wan in your sig. Minus the blurry bit, obviously.

    Srsly though, I don't get:

Current "trendy" music: Kasabian, Arctic Patrol, SnowMonkeys etc. They're all poxy, overrated Flavour of the Month bullsh1t. I said the same 3-4 years ago about the White Stripes and was told by fans that they'd be around forever. When did they last release anything?

Scumbags with pink t-shirts, spiky blonde hair and earrings: If it was 2002 and you bumped into yourself wearing the crap you have on today, you'd probably dig the head off yourself. Fckin Irish Guidos.

Nerd snobbery: "OMG, you play FPS games on a console, pfft N00b etc.." Or people who have their PC setup/configuration in their sig.

I got very confused when I saw that 'look' appearing around the place. It was like some sort of car crash between the 'emo' and 'knacker' stereotypes.

Whatever it is, it's about as sexy as Cilla Black naked! :P
    Ewwww mental image!
