    Lol .... yes

Can I ask an honest question. Why do people join the big socieities and the union ents (your already a member ) when all the events they run are open to all anyway? It cannot be just for the free stuff as the smaller socieities give away free things aswell.

    Well, I'm first year, so I didn't know that. That's good :D

I joined Ents, L&H, Arts, Deutsch (just for the possibility of free beer), An Cumann Gaelach.

Do we get a card for An Cumann Gaelach at some point, or are we stuck with the wristband?

I found it frustrating that there's no dance society or dance troupe in UCD..

For how long is it going to be? I have a meeting at 6 which is very important to me, so I might come late :/.

GAA-though price is pretty steep for non-freshers, L&H simply for pizza on the spot didnt even pay full price and ents because the card is partially useful.

Are societies actually good ways to make friends or is this a load of cods wollop!Iv been to many different places including America in the club Im part of and would consider clubs to be a far better way to meet people and actually get to know them, not just have a big piss up. My opinions may be completely wrong as I've not actually taken part in a society mainly because i dont have time due to club training, study etc

There used to be a dance society a few years ago, it used to hold a few dance classes a week. I'm surprised it's not still around...

Starts at 6.10 sharp, the talk will probably last 30-45 minutes, then an open floor. Event formally ends at 8.

Oh yeah, meant to join Dutch soc but forgot....I haven't really been to many of their events since that time I failed the drinking competition to become auditor. :pac:

    YFG

And that was it... I somehow forgot to join MedSoc - d'oh! But after 4 years of it and the course now starting to take over my life I'm hoping I'm a de facto member at this stage :pac:

I'm thinking I might make a triumphant return to Snowsports this year though after my little hiatus last year. I used to know everyone in that club, not sure I'll know anyone anymore unless some Masters students are still hanging about. :( But I'll join anyway, one year without skiing was WAY too long :D
