    Looks very impressive.
Is anybody else bothered that a private company can change the name of a city street seemingly without any consultation with the public or the city council?
It was known as Faulkner's Lane since the 1760's!!

I was wondering where "Opera Lane" came from. I'd be very surprised if the planners didn't have a say?

Yeah, fcuk that! Hopefully the street name won't change, as in, address wise.

But obviously the marketing types needed some catchphrase for the area in general, and Opera Lane is logically easy to locate...

Saw a billboard last night announcing that H&M are opening on the 1st Oct. The address on it is Faulkners Lane so they must just be using Opera Lane for marketing purposes alright

That's funny seeing as H&M are in Academy Street.

Two different names, same development. Operastreet and Operaroad must have been taken.

That's the way it works alright  Same thing happened to an old right of way in Tullamore - a businessman built a car park across it, then shut it off at both ends when he started charging to park there. There are different rules for them boys...
