Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Eircom Wireless Dropping Regularly

I play a bit of online poker on my laptop at home - connected wirelessly.

The problem is the amount of times the connection drops even just for 30 seconds, but at that stage I'm out of a hand and I could be in the money etc etc.

Is there any settings I can change or are Eircom renowned for the wirless dropping randomly but regularly?

Firstly I know it sounds pedantic but there is no such thing as ''Eircom Wireless''. It is important to understand this if you want to diagnose what is going wrong.

Eircom supply you with bb over your phone line and you then distribute this signal via a wireless network. The wireless part is your responsibility.

What you need to establish is whether the drop outs are due to the signal over the phone line or some interference with your wireless network.

Try connecting by ethernet cable some evening when you are playing and see if there are drop outs. If there are then you have to look at line stats.

If there aren't then its the wireless network - try changing channels and seeing if there are any other networks around and change away from whatever channel they are on.
