Are we too hard to impress?

My dog is unphased by everything. I could start levitating and he'd just shrug his shoulders. Impossible to impress him.

I was just watching that new budweiser ad and it's pretty damn impressive and I'd imagine took months of planning etc. However, for most of us it's just another ad. I often think about this too when i watch a big hollywood blockbuster...how long it must take to film certain shots etc...and it could all be over in a few seconds and we could still walk out of the cinema thinking what we just watched was just a pile of ****.

So...like how we have become desensitised to violence...have we now become immune to impressive things?

(To give this thread some kind of a point...)

What impressive things have you seen lately...let's give them their due!

That Shania Twain fusspot is the epitome of what abouttobebanned is talking about.

She meets this guy who was smart, took pride in his appearance, looked like Brad Pitt (probably the biggest dreamboat in Hollywood no less) and had a lovely car. Yet seemingly none of those qualities impressed her much and all because yer man's not great at hugging and poor little Shania's terified that she'll be cold in the Winter! What a fussy cow. Buy an electric heater ya big eejit.

A dog has a superiority complex over man as it can lick its own balls, so why would it be impressed by any of our accomplishments?

OP to get back to your initial question - I agree with you 100%, I think we are far too hard to please these days and it takes a lot to impress.. but I was watching a free DVD that came with the paper - it was The Diaries of the David Attenborough series and what they do to get shots of wildlife really impressed me, they are so dedicated - I was more appreciative when I watched an episode of Life in Cold Blood after seeing it...
