Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Camera damage question

    Hey Guys,

Recently I was on hols in the us.
In one of the hotels we stayed in I had left my camera (pentax k10d) in one of their safety deposit boxes by reception.

As my luck would have it , one morning when I wanted to get money out of the box the keys wouldn't open it (they were the old style steel deposit boxes opened with actual keys - we had one key for the box and reception had the second)

Now an 'engineer' had to be called - who then proceeded to bang the box with a hammer!! I asked them was it going to damage my camera and i was told 'if it's in the back of the box it will be fine' wt...!!????

At this point I was livid but the oh sent me outside so as not to KILL someone!

Anyway long story short! I filed an accident report with the hotel just in case damage had been done as at this point it was too early to tell as it seemed fine...

Now i'm looking through some of my holiday pics and alot of them seem crooked! I know i'm not bad enough to get that many photos crooked (atleast I'd hope not!!)
So what I'm wondering is could excessive banging of the steel/iron safe from a mallet have caused this from the vibrations?
They were banging that safe for a good twenty mins with the mallet! I'm getting kind of worried now that damage has been done :(

    Thanks :)

I think you should have taken the option of 'killing' someone ;)

try placing it on a flat surface (table / tripod). take an image. see what the level is like on the resulting shot.

Would it help if you, you know, leaned the other way?

When you walk, do you find yourself constantly veering to one side or the other ?

Theres two possible people here to blame...
mr Jack daniels & Captain morgans
Did you meet either of these people while taking pictures?

    :p:p :P Very funny! :p

I don't usually find myself leaning though maybe if I took the extra height out of that one shoe for my bandy leg.... :p

Seriously though! I actually don't think it was me (all the time anyway!) too many of the pics are crooked - even a few someone else took using my camera. It's just really odd.

Thanks Tommy I'll try that. I did take one from a flat surface which came out a bit odd as well.
