Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Hi,

I've recently got vm ware and I'm putting server 2003 on it to test some new software I'm planning on using. The thing is I'm having a nightmare getting it setup. I've been following the vm ware documentation but it just aint happening.

Was hoping someone out there knows of a good reference point for vm ware, docs, tips anything.

What you getting stuck on? - it's fairly simple. You just create a virtual machine with what ever RAM requirements etc you want. Then have your setup CD in and start it, it should boot from CD like your own physical computer would. From there, just treat it like any computer. Alternatively, you can create a machine that boots from ISO once you give it the link to the XP Setup iso or what ever.

Cheers for the link. I have it up and running now with it bridged of my laptop. Got 2 q's if anyone can answer them.

    1. is there a way to restrict the server from having access to the internet even tho it is bridged with my network connection.

    2. I installed server 2003 from the disks, in service.msc I can see the sql services but I can't get it running. When I open the SQL Service Server Manager I add in my server name but don't get any services to use. I've obivously missed something but I'm new to trying to get a server up and running. One of the reasons behind messing with vmware.

    1. If you are using VMware workstation and want to network your VM with the host machine only, use the "VMnet1 (Host Only)" network rather than "Bridged" one.
