Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

:confused:Hi, have a dell inspiron laptop and it will not turn on al all...
I am just wondering even if the motherboard is ruined(?) would the light indicating the unit is charging come on? Because at the moment even thou it is plugged there is no light whatsoever.

Bit of a long shot here but sometimes that happens to mine and all I have to do is pop out the battery and then pop it back in again.

    Again......long shot.

First thing to check is whether the power supply is delivering power to the laptop.
The older power supplies used to break fairly frequently.

What model of inspiron is it?

Is the power brick the type with the square connection to the laptop or the newer round one? (PA-10 or PA-12 written on the label?)

Does the light appear on the power supply when plugged in?
Is there any sign of a broken cable on the power supply?
The removable extension between the wall plug and the power brick is connected?
The switch on the wall socket is on? (sorry, but does happen)

Any chance that anyone might have a laptop of the same type whose power brick you could borrow to test?
