New information from Cassini about mountain sized bumps in Saturn's rings. Also some great (large!) photo mosaics of the rings with astounding detail taking during the recent equinox (which only happens every 15 years or so)

    Information

If you zoom into this excellent photo of Saturn taken at the equinox when the sun's light was shining "edge-on" you can see how thin the rings are in relation to Saturn by the shadow cast onto Saturn's surface. (lower left of Saturn's surface)

This panoramic mosaic shows the rings in great detail. Amazing how complex they are.

That new 'thanks' button is a hindrance really, because it gives people an excuse not to reply! Thanks for the info and links though. I had been wondering when news of thiss mission was gonna be reported.
