    Hi there,
Im currently playing on Black-Belt Poker (iPoker network). I am aware that iPoker does not offer any rakeback deals, but does any1 know if there is any way of getting rakeback privately or something?

iPoker is the 3rd biggest poker network (behind PokerStars & Full Tilt). Does anybody know why on earth such a large & popular network does not offer rakeback? Or we the customers stupid to be playing on a poker network that doesen't offer rakeback? Is is finanically sustainable to keep playing on a network that doesen't offer rakeback?

The industry in general hates rakeback, and rightly so. It's a terrible, underhanded system that only benefits the referrers, who get money for nothing.

Both Stars and iPoker have loyalty bonus schemes that are designed to produce equivalent (and sometimes better) returns to regular players. All the major iPoker skins offer 100% rakeback up to $500 in the form of a first deposit bonus. You could hop skins regularly and make that bonus last a very long time.

Thanks fatguy. Why does the industry hate rakeback?

You'd have to ask the likes of BigCityCanker on this forum for a detailed answer from someone in the know, but I get the impression it's kinda gotten out of control. Players think rakeback is the only important factor in a site, and sites are going bust (or at least leaking money) trying to give players unfeasibly better deals than the competition.

Add in that it all seems a bit shady, with sites offering bonuses to players in the know but not to those who sign up directly, never mind the random affiliates of questionable tax status, and that's a nightmare for a publically traded company like iPoker. The company would become worthless overnight if there was any suggestion they were involved in underhanded activities.

Not that bonus points are a brilliant system either. I mean, your average player has no idea what they are worth or how much they have cost relative to that. At least rakeback is a consistent % value.
