    How much of a donation is normal after a christening?

    Em.. We didn't make a donation because the priest didn't allow it...

    Maybe ask the sarcristian (sp??) how much is normal, they should know...

    20 - 50 euros seems to be the norm.

    50 to the priest and 50 to whoever prepares the curch.

    we didnt have to make a donation as the priest is her grand uncle but we were told 20€ for an hours work is fair enough for the priest AND the church!

    I had no idea I had to give a donation at christening :rolleyes:
    Then at church when my mam asked how much did I give I realised.
    I just gave 20euro. My aunt said that was the norm.

    We were given a Christening envolope with out childs name printed on it. It was the donanation envolope. We put in €20. Alot of people told us €100 but there was just no way we could afford that on top of everything else.

    I wouldnt give them anything!
    Only reason my child is gonna be christened is so the choice of schools wont be limited in this backwards country.
