    Ah, I get ya.

I just clipped the front part off. The place where I want to slot in the drive is covered though and I'm not sure how I can take it off.

For some reason I just assumed that I could put in two. :o

I went ahead and just replaced the old with the new. The newer drive is much better than the old one and I'm not missing out on anything by taking it out. I think I have it done now, I've connected both cables to the drive.

Thanks for your help. Now all I have to do is put it back together and hope everything works. :)

Going by your last pic (http://img9.imageshack.us/img9/2215/dscf0010tk.jpg), it looks like the plate directly below the DVD drive originally in there can be removed, usually they are pushed and twisted off, there is probably only small tabs of metal holding the pate to the main case; I think I can see two tabs there along the bottom edge of the *removable* plate. Same goes for a bit lower, where you might want to install a floppy drive.

One of your earlier pics (http://img97.imageshack.us/i/dscf0004u.jpg/) shows where the original drive is screwed to the case, and places for screws for fixing a second drive below it (if case is orientated upright; actually above it in the pic).

EDIT: Added a pic to show where I mean. Check on the inside to see if there are any retaining clips or whatever, but usually it's just tabs spot-welded to hold the plate in there.
