Hi fellow militaria collectors and enthusiasts!

Not sure is many, or any of you are aware of the military museum based in Carlow town. Its a relatively small, voluntary run museum based on the grounds of St Dympna's hospital and located in the old mid 19th century church.

We have a large number of items (and are of course always happy to accept any donated items ;)) which we are doing our best to preserve, document and display in as good a way as possible. We have a lot of Irish military uniforms from the present day back to the 40's. Field dress, officers dress, ceramonial etc. A newly decorated medieval section, a good WW1 collection and various other items from around the world.

Peoples usual reactions on visiting the museum is the sheer amount of objects on display in what they thought would only be a small museum!

If any of ye guys are down this neck of the woods of a Sunday sure drop in and make yourself known! I work up there so you'll know someone, so no excuse not to drop in ;).
