    Hi all,

Where are you based and what's your budget?

That would be helpful, based in Co. Galway, I'm unsure of the budget as I'm not sure what exactly I'm looking for! Lets say E300 to E700?

for that type of money you could get a good Kayak second hand from http://irishfreestyle.com/forums/buysell/boats

The boats there would be mainly whitewater spec kayaks, thats not to say you couldn't use them in other places as Whitewater Kayaks also make the best all round kayaks.

If you can post up what type of kayaking he'd like to do, or even where he'd be kayaking I can try give some more specific details.

In Co. Galway you could also look in river deep mountain high who stock kayaking gear http://www.rdmh.ie/
or get in contact with Galway Kayak Club http://galwaykayakclub.com/ who I'm sure would help you out.

I have a "Pyranha Ammo" for sale.
    Size M

Its a great kayak for Ireland because the Ammo is a perfect lenght for Irish rivers. It is a White Water spec which means it is super comfortable and this makes it alot easier to lean in. It has a padded seat, hip pads, thigh rests and foot rest. It is also has a back rest which offers support and it makes it safer.

The boat is about a year and a half old and in perfect condition.
    €700

Here is a link to the full specs of it

You really need to know what type of use he's gonna be giving it. I got a dagger Gtx to run rivers and surf beach break but its not very good on flat water or sea paddling.

You should get a used Gtx for about 500. As with any sit in Kayak he will have to learn how to roll. Sit on's are the other option, look at a Tek sport for sit on's

Thanks PjC, He would be more comfortable w/a sit in. I'll take a look at the Gtx's

Gtx was my first boat, great all rounder. Quiet stable and good fun in the surf. Im jealous of the surf he could catch over your way

    hi there.
i hVWE LITTLE EXPERIANCE WITH KAYAKS BUT I HAVE STARTED OUT WITH A NEKKY JIVE, THE LENGTH MEANS I FEEL COMFORTABLE IN THE SEA WHILE ALSO ALLOWS ME TO GO ON RIVERS. FROM MY EXPERIANCE ALOT OF CLUBS USE THIS MODEL OR A SIMILAR MODEL BECAUSE IT IS A VERY GOOD ALL ROUNDER.
SECOND HAND WELL I GOT MINE FOR €300 SO THAT IS ROUGHLY WHAT U SHOULD GET YOURS FOR. CALL THE KAYAK CLUBS TO SEE IF THEY ARE GETTING RID OF EXCESS STOCK
