SATA-300 Backwards Compatibility

Hi All, Have an IS7 MB from 5 years ago and have an SATA HDD connected up, new at the time! Want to add into my system http://www.komplett.ie/k/ki.aspx?sku=391606 but wondering about this new fast SATA, is it ok to just connect this up to my old system? Thanks

New HDD should automatically drop down to SATA1 bandwidth. Hopefully...
