:eek: Dhalsim ultra. Mid air ultra's rule. I can see myself liking that one. It looks much more useful than his current one. Although I think they will buff catastrophe so it will be more of a choice.

By and large I'm not liking those new costumes, and Fuerte's and Gief's ultras look more than a little similar to each other, even if Gief does his from mid-air.

One-inch punches are always a good thing, though.

One of the things that bothered me greatly about Ken was his lack of decent Ultra. An uppercut that needs a directly verticle attack can be really hard to pull off against more experience players who don't just jump in at the sign of a wet fart. With this new ultra he might get a few more experienced hands as opposed to one of the many flowchart Kens floating about.

Gotta agree with you there man. Ken's ultra rly is a bucket of ****. Okay, a normal SRK >> fadc >> ultra does ok damage, and in oder to get a full ultra off of an SRK it must be a counter hit which blows ( altho you can wait until near the end of a focus crumple and then SRK, for some reason it registers it as a Counter). I always try and do SRK >> FADC >> iAir Tatsu >> Ultra every now and again :P

Still, his ultra is rly lacking tbh, I wonder what is new Ultra will be

I like how the 2 ultra thing will add more depth to matchups

Kens ultra aint so bad. While not the best its not truely dire.

I'd rate the current ultra's something like this top being the best.

Seth (cheap ass ultra)
Ryu (lots of way to land it)
Rufus (lots of way to land it)
Sagat (a good few ways to land it, massive damage)
Balrog (c.jab is irratatingly annoying)
Cammy (Cannon Strike FADC Ultra)
C.Viper (Lots of corner set ups)
Sakura (Ex.Tatsu is an easy and safe set up)
Zangief (1 frame start up but no set ups as such)
Akuma (tricky to use, you need to learn how to use this)
Abel (Abels mix up game can set up the launcher)
Ken (DP FADC Ultra is always handy to have)
Gen (A few decent set ups)
Gouken (Back +throw is an easy set up but its easy to tech and its not as good as FAFC ultra)
Chun-Li (reasonable set ups in the corner but low damage off it)
Dhalsim (Low damage but useful zoning tool, ultra most likely to be combo'd in from a super)
Elf Feurte (A great reversal ultra but no set ups)
Rose (Good punisher, but only 1 set up for it in the corner).
Blanka ( Insane chip damage does not make up for lack of practical set up options, he has a 50/50 gamble option but his oppenent guesses right he eats ultra back)
M.Bison (Can only set his ultra up from the air, and the set up is beaten by alot of air normals)
Dan (no practical set ups)
Honda (no setups)
Fei-Long (no setups)
Guile (retardedly bad ultra, no set ups bar the impractical combo from his super)
Vega (ultra can't even be used as a wake up reversal, awful)

I'd rate Abel's ultra a bit higher, easy enough to FADC into it as well.

You can combo fei longs ultra off of jumping fierce kick by the way azza.

Seths Ultra isn't that great to be honest.

Id put abels higher too, one of the best in the game. Id put el fuertes way higher too, you have to really carefull when he has it. Its better than kens anyway.

Actually Fei Long has a few ultra sets up. He can FADC his flame kick but the ultra doesn't fully connect. I would not raise him it that much higher, but better than Honda's and Dan's anyway.

As for Elf's Ultra I can see a case being made for it to be around Kens level but not any higher.

Seth's Ultra is so great because, while it does almost no damage, it prevents the opponent from doing almost anything at all:

• Can't jump in
• Can't fireball
• Tricky to FA->dash his Sonic booms

Some of the top US players were actually discussing this a short while after release and how a Seth with a life lead can just run the clock; it's why he was banned in early tournaments.

You see Elf's ultra come out alot in high level play because they know the spacing and how to set it up. Personally I think it's alot better than kens.....which is pretty awful.

Elf with ultra means no jumping ever so it's definatly higher up the list.
I'd also rate goukens higher as he has tons of ways to land it in the corner.

Also I think Cammy's should be lower, Cannon strike fadc ultra whiffs a lot if you just do that (cannon strike fadc cannon strike fadc ultra usually hits), and you don't get the full damage off it anyway. Imo Viper, Abel, Gief at least definitely have better ultras.

edit: I think fuerte's is better too, you can do it on reaction to fireballs at half screen and punish most jumpins.

edit 2: And imo Seth's isn't the best, Sagat's is definitely better at least, and I'd say Ryu and Rufus' are too.
