Hopefully the idiots who would potentially fall for them also lack literacy skills.

Sorry, maybe I'm misunderstanding your reply, but my interpretation of the "I'm safer in Europe" poster is they are attempting to tap into many women's fear of assault/abuse. You know, voting no will make you unsafe.

Playing on women's fear of assault/abuse????!!!!!!!

This isn't a vote on legalizing rape. Stop being dramatic. I could just as easily point to the girl crying in the NO poster and say a YES vote will have her raped and that's why she's crying.

It's just as completely and utterly ridiculous as what you just said. "Safe" in that poster means jobs and financial security. Not assault/abuse. If you contest that, you shouldn't be allowed to vote.

I can only think that you literally made that up as you were typing as a way to try make a point.. No woman would ever look at that and think, "Jesus, I better vote Yes in case I'm assaulted or abused".

Definately ignoring any other post you make on this site from now on by the way. Ya've lost all credibility when you come out with stuff like that.

I'm going to vote no though, for a couple of reasons but the main one being that we voted "wrong" last time so have to vote again. That's unacceptable in my book.

It's perfectly acceptable.. Last time, no one was a die hard Yes voter. Only no voters were passionate about the treaty and thus, most people who voted were No voters. I don't know one person who voted because I don't hang around with No voters.

This time, people who agree with the treaty will get up and vote in order to silence Declan Ganleys power trip and ridicule the lies that the No vote has spread. This vote is probably the most fueled debate in recent Irish history where everyone has an opinion and will vote for it.

Last time, it was only the No campaign who cared and voted because the Yes campaign was so poor. This time, the Yes voters are determined to not let No voters drag this treaty into the ground on the back of Declan Ganley's lies and BS.

Libertas should put up a picture of General Richard Myers

the guy from Bush's Chiefs of Staff who started the Iraq war and is now working with Ganley

that guy certainly created alot of jobs (in the coffin and armament's industries :( )

Ganley has recieved funding from the American arms industry to push for a no vote remember :)

Wow that's quite a bunch on the board of directors of Rivada Networks. And it's enough for me to want Ganley escorted to Dublin Airport under armed guard and put on a plane back to the US and never to be permitted access to the EU ever again. Ah, if only

I like to judge a man by the company he keeps:

    http://www.independent.ie/business/irish/ganleys-backer-revealed-1897865.html

DECLAN Ganley's 'No to Lisbon Campaign' has been bankrolled by a secretive British hedge fund boss that made hundreds of millions of euros "short selling" Irish banks last year.

Regulatory filings reveal that the wealthy investor, Crispin Odey, donated almost €3,500 to "Pro-Democracy: Libertas.eu" on May 28. The Mayfair-based hedge fund boss also donated nearly €15,000 worth of services to the organisation. Libertas is also backed by other London financiers.

Odey, who received a near €35m bonus last year, was one of the leading short sellers of Anglo Irish Bank, before the bank imploded.

Ganley got my hopes up after the elections in June when he said he'd bow out of political life.. Can you imagine how much bigger his head would be if he'd been elected? He's an absolute headwrecker.

On the subject of no groups, I actually think Cóir should win the "most annoying" award this time. Last time it was a tie between Libertas and the 32-County Soveriegnity Movement. That lot had the most ludicrous reason to vote no I've ever heard (and there are a great many ridiculous reasons) - "vote no to Lisbon because it doesn't give us a United Ireland". Right, lads; what have you been taking?

there's another version of the poster that has european democracy instead of irish democracy when I first saw it the first time I thought they might have changed the date on the irish one. Didnt get a close look so dont know what colour her eyes in that one are...

I have to agree with you. The way the Yes side are trying to portray themselves as honest

people shocked at the no campaign is hilarious. As if butter wouldn't melt in their mouths. They

    ain't fooling nobody.

Aye, sure, what the yes side have said has absolutely no foundation at all. Whereas the No side are clearly not contradicting each other in their campaigns, not coming out saying "Actually, thats completely false and does not apply to the EU at all" about parts of their campaigns, not spreading 100x more scare tactics since Lisbon I (leaflets with buldozers, sick eldery people, children crying, micheal collins etc), not representing bodys such as farmers, fisherie groups, churches etc who obviouslly have not all came out and knocked the No side false representations/claims.

Ya, the No side are clearly the lesser of two evils.

do these people have any shame :(

    see new poster

    It's a despicable poster

Radio stations need to receive lots of messages expressing disgust at his use of the image of a small child to support a political lie.

Is there nothing Ganley won't do to manipulate voters? He's as bad as COIR/Youth Defence!

Or maybe the yes side could put up a poster of someone who screwed us all over by bailing out his buddies in Anglo? With a 'trust me' logo on it.

But that would be pointless because EVERYBODY knows that the treaty has nothing to do with Fianna Fail :)

I notice their other poster is "European Democracy. 1945 - 2009". It's good to know that democracy came to Ireland 29 years before it came to the rest of Europe.

Wow. That's like big news. You're saying our elected representatives didn't help form the Lisbon treaty. Isn't that a good reason to vote no?
