This is absolutely disgraceful. It is clear to me that union leaders are completely detached from

their members and certainly do not represent them.

I rather wait for the response from siptu before commenting too much at the moment considering Kieran Allen is a pretty tight member of the socialist workers party (opposing Lisbon) and contributes to voteno.ie quite a bit (obviously also opposing lisbon).

If the damage is as extensive as he claims I would question why it took 23 days for someone to speak out and even then its a passing comment in a debate.

He has struck a big blow to lisbon though, regardless of how accurate he is, much like how the issue with the farmer's last year, mixed signals within SIPTU (not helped by the original statement by them on supporting lisbon beig cautious) + this means the SIPTU vote could go anyway, especially with so much of the lisbon debate being focused on workers rights at the moment.

I'll wait until SIPTU responds before commentating any further.

Kieran Allen is the main policy guru of the Socialist Workers' Party. He's not wrong about them not balloting their members, I'm sure, but the rest of his position is as one might expect.

    cordially,
