Only wonder how many of these are original?

does anyone know if the Finns had a similar helmet after the war. I bought a German style helmet, olive in colour with a bracket on the front. its not spannish or Irish. any ideas?

Try to find some stamp underneath the linnen somewhere. There should be a figure for a size and some certification/manufacturers mark and perhaps original colour.

Europe after the war was awashed with German style helmets, there were produced in millions and were used well into 60's - 70's by firemen, local civil defence, police and militias all over the Europe.

thats it exactly. so its spannish. I always imagined the spannish helmets were a little broader. do you know when they had it? I bought mine in 1990.
is it true that the East German NVA helmet is a whermacht design?

I'm no expert in Spanish helmets but these yokes were mid-war copies of the M35 Stahlhelm. Contrary to myth they do not date from the Spanish Civil War. I have one which I bought as a German helmet back before I knew anything much about them. Wasn't too disappointed as I only paid £20 for it! The attached is a pic of one complete with badge.

Have a look at this link for info on the East German NVA Helmet:
