Flicking around stations last night and everything seemed to be pretty much just music except for one station playing country music that had someone live on air, taking requests etc. Im not a big country fan but I stayed listening for a while as the show was ok, pretty funny. Is this a pirate? cos I thought there wasnt anyone live after 12. The station was a little before radio 1 on my dial.

You haven't said where you are, but from what you've said, I think what you heard was Hot Country, which broadcasts on 88.1fm in Dublin and the surrounding counties.

It isn't a pirate, it's a licenced temporary station, and it broadcasts live until 1 a.m. on a Saturday.

IMO, Hearing a Live DJ on air after 12 is great, and since being live at that time in Ireland is fairly rare outside the couple already mentioned, for a temp to be doing that is most commendable.
