Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Sorry for the lack of notice, but there's a documentary on RTE 2 about the assassination of Robert Kennedy right now (8pm).

Lol, not at all. I only got to watch some of it unfortunately, but it was pro-conspiracy. I'll have to see if I can get the full version somewhere.

Watch this, it's pretty good. Sheds some light CIA involvement. In the JFK thread (one of the more recent ones) I was fairly pro-conspiracy charting an increasingly self interested CIA involving themselves deeply in American foreign policy through the 50's right up through the Eisenhower administration up until JFK took power in '60. Kennedy famously cut funding and fired two of the CIA heads of the time. This had serious knock on effects for the Vietnam war machine. There is a common misconception spouted that Kennedy was pro Vietnam because he sent troops there in the early '60's. In truth he inherited the war and was hellbent on ending American involvement, read any of the Kennedy Biographies for more.
When JFK was assassinated one of Presidents Johnson's first acts was to overrule Kennedy's mandate to bring 1000 troops home from Vietnam for Christmas that year.
Kennedy beat off Nixon in '59. Nixon then faded away into almost oblivion only to be resurrected by enemies of Kennedy in the late sixties finally winning after Bobby is assassinated. Of the course the Watergate scandal proved that the CIA were completely interlinked with the Presidential office. One of the burglars wrote a letter revealing such and of course Nixon refused to released tapes proving such. These burglars, accused of wiretapping the Democratic offices were ex CIA men Hunt & Liddy, who were heavily pro Republican and featured in early 1960's politics.
Nixon had clearly covered up the entire scandal. There is no question of this. He was later was a given a full pardon by Ford after stepping down and faced no consequences for his actions; conversely he went on to become a celebrity profiting from history through books and interviews. And people say conspiracy theorists are nuts? Can you blame them?
