    HI all,

A bit premature I know but anyone know where Ireland V Italy will be on or what channel in Melbourne?? Its definately not on sbs / fox sports / setanta. Be a 6am kickoff on Sunday morning.

I have watched some games in Charles Dickens before in town, but they told me that they were staying open for Cyprus V Ireland a few weeks ago and when got to the pub at 4am it was closed so do not want to bank on them!

If the Charles Dickens wasn't showing it then the Casino was always my next port of call.

Its on ESPN, live at 11.00pm October 10th according to their website, but the match is kicking off at 8.00pm Irish time

    2010 WORLD CUP QUALIFIERS
World Cup Qualifying wraps this month – ESPN presents
coverage of final games from the European Group

It’s been a long road, starting back in August 2008, but October marks the end of 2010 World Cup Qualifying, with ESPN featuring final matches from the European group. The nine group winners qualify directly, while the best eight second-place teams face-off in a playoff for the remaining four European places. In June, the Netherlands – along with Australia, Japan and South Korea – became one of the first sides to qualify for the World Cup, joining host South Africa in the 32-nation field.

By late July, world powers like England, Spain, Germany and the defending World Cup champions, Italy, were all on the brink of qualifying, with Serbia, Denmark, Russia, Hungary, Greece and Ireland all close behind. Italy and Ireland, who have waged a heated battle in Group 8 throughout the qualifying, face each other one last time on October 10th, airing LIVE on ESPN. The Final tournament will be held in South Africa from June 11 to July 11, 2010.

    Schedule: AUS
Oct 10 11:00pm World Cup Qualifying: Ireland vs. Italy (L)
    Oct 15 08:00am World Cup Qualifying (T)
    (L) Live; (T) Taped

That would be awesome if ESPN show it but according to FAI website the game is kicking off at 8 pm Irish time which would mean a 6 am kick off (melbourne time after hour changes this weekend). The 11pm kick off is way off.

On Foxtel EPG now they have ESPN 11pm (Qld) next Saturday nite - Live Football Ireland v Italy  and a "repeat" of the game at 4am Sunday morning yet the match won't even have started untill 5am

Still no change on the timing for the Irish Game. ESPN are rubbish. They are always crap for info. Hopfully it will run live.

For a game that late it would be hard to get a good irish crowd anywhere to watch the game. Casino would be best bet. Charles Dickens does hold a 24 hour licence but you dont want to bank on them as they shut up shop for the Cyprus game after they said they would stay open.

Based on everything Im just going to watch it at home as its probably safest bet.

The montenagro game is also scheduled to be shown on espn on thurs morning at 6 am (this would be an hour delay), but espn are like to change their listings right up to kick off so who knows if that will air.

Sports Bar in Kings Cross have a poster up saying it is on Saturday at midnight either way. Wonder do they have a stream if it isnt on tv? (no use me asking, generally this kind of question gets a half clue response from the staff)

still showing up here at the incorrect time

    http://www.espn.com.au/index.php?action=view&id=102&module=newsmodule&src=%40random4802ef4a58a47

To Shane 86 the game is kicking off at 8pm in Dublin Irish Time so it cant be on at midnight Sydney time. Espn are advertising the wrong time for kick off..

They have it at the right time on the 'TV Listings' part of the site.

Ah brillant. Thats great news. My crap internet browser in work is not allowing me to view it though. Something about flash not installed. If possible could you check and see if these listing stretch as far as next Thurs morning and you could see if they are showing the Montengaro game live?

click here and change the day to sunday and the game is on at 6am australian time live ......

Neither Charles Dickens or Celtic Club are showing it live in Melbourne - they're only showing the replay later Sunday evening.
Casino will obviously have it (or should do) but i HATE watching games there cause they very rarely have the sound on.
There's a 24 bar just off Chapel St, (Greville St) near Prahran station that could be worth a go but they'll only stay open if there are people in the place - so if you turned up at 5am, it could well be closed.
    Anyone have any other suggestions?

So B Man - are we all meeting at your place for the game...??? We've just arrived in Melbourne and fecking driven crazy trying to find somewhere playing match - we hate relying on internet free streams cause let's face it sometimes they don't work and by time you finally get connection - the only goal of the game is scored.. ha ha.....
