Was reading the Tips IamXavier put up and thought that a seperate post for this goldmaking would be handy so more people can add to it. Il link his tips first then post up some of mine. Been playing since day 1 and with Jewelcrafting alone I've made over 100k on one character.
Right, there are a lot of things that you can do to make gold. Most people overlook these things as "a waste of time" since the increase is not huge... but remember every single piece of copper counts. I will brag a little before I start.

I have the best BOE gear for my main, offspec and mainspec and my alt. I have the chopper and most of the pets, I have 51 mounts, I have epic gems for my main, his offspec and my alt, in everything. I have the best enchants for my main, his offspec and my alt. I have a good few professions which I leveled up to maximum. I have epic mounts on both characters, and bought 1 for the GF. How did I do it? Lots of patients. Now I am making a solid fortune. Contraty to popular belief, this doesn't take 10 hours a day, which some claim. It's hard at the start, but once you get momentum, it doesn't really stop.

Remember that it is just a game, you don't need to screw people over or be a complete ass, but it's ok to be mean with your gold ;) People ask me for gold, to buy them things, kiith is the only person I don't mind doing it for from time to time. Even my GF gets nothing :P

Sell everything, all your trash is worth a lot of gold. Don't delete it or leave it on mobs.

Do your dailies, I only do the argent ones, my cooking JC and fishing dailies, I enjoy them, they are fun for me and very easy. Net about 200G at least from these.

DE everything you can, all boes that you don't need/want, DE them. Sell the mats or keep them for your enchants.

Have some gold making profs, this does make a huge differance. If you have one character and he is JC and enchanter to get the best stats for raiding, then you might find it a little difficult. I have JC, blacksmithing, herbing, enchanting, skinning and mining as my main professions, I also have fishing and cooking. I have others which I am leveling on alts. Use them. They are very very good for making gold. Do your dailies in them every day.

I do the argent dailies for the seal things... I buy pets and I buy pets from time to time. Instant sale of 500G on my server, lots are up for 1K but I don't believe they sell.

Sell things like northrend spice, relic of ulduar, potions, cloth, anything that you pick up that you cannot use. They do sell, just be patient.

Sell your CD's, I mean farm a little for mats and sell your flasks, sell your titansteel etc etc.

I use emblems and honor to buy gems, they sell for about 160G minimum each on my server. Honor is easy to grind so are emblems.

I get people to make my herbs into darkmoon cards, sell them on ah, if you get lucky, you will be extremely rich very fast.

Search the AH for items that are below normal price, I made a huge amount of gold doing this in TBC, bought large prismatic shards for 20G (buying 40 or 50 at a time) and selling them for 30G, not all at once ofc. This is free money, especially when it is enchanting mats. It is a gamble though, as you are not guaranteed a profit. The price might stay at 20G or even go lower.

I don't make money from selling crafted goods, too much of a gamble in my opinion. I also don't spam trade with /2 Blacksmith looking for work. Waste of time.

Sorry for going off topic, but if you want I can make a new thread and post some more in detail?

2nd Post from Tadeo Panicky Garbage
I made a lot of money leveling on my alts, not so much that I could retire off ;) Enough to get my epic mount, my dual specialisation and my winter flying thingy.

I don't claim to be an expert, I didn't write up any gold guides or use them. I can just give you advice based on my own experience. I hope I don't get your hopes up.

Over heal, I believe you have a low level character? Since you just started playing the game?

Important things to note, if you are a casual player and do not expect to raid hardcore like Nelfhiem or insidia guilds, then your professions are not massively important. If you do want to raid in these big very hardcore strict guilds, your professions are extremely important imo.

Anyway, every server is differant, you must do a little research into what professions on your server make gold. In the last expansion I made huge gold from mining and herbing on my main. Some will claim it is JC and enchanting. Other things such as engineering only really benifit the owner of the profession and there isn't a massive amount of gold to be made.

Collecting professions tend to be the best as you don't have to spend any gold on them and they give you maximum profits for your input. For instance, blacksmithing is pretty expensive to level up, but there is not a massive profit to be made. You will have to grind for the ore or buy it off the AH. You are also not guaranteed to sell your crafted items. I have sold very little from my crafting professions.

When you are leveling, the same applies as for level 80. Sell everything that is grey, some white item can be sold on the AH, all green and blue bind on equip items should be disenchanted and the materials sold on the auction house. Do not that sometimes the item may be worth more than the materials after disenchanting. Such as weapons. I suggest you get an addon called enchantrix, I think that shows you the % of what will drop once you disenchant it. Auctioneer is also another addon that will help you make money indirectly. It is very handy indeed.

There are items that you will make more money from if you sell them seperately. I always sell my infinite dust seperate, even if I have a few hundred. Scale of economies (I know I probably misspelt the term).

There are times to sell items on the AH too. Reset day is the best for gems and enchanting materials, as people get new gear and need to socket it and enchant it. Friday is also another good day (I am not 100% sure why, more casual players raid? Something to do with PVP?). Try hold off for these days to sell your items.

Before reset is the best to look for deals on the AH, as nobody can outbid you if the servers are down ;) So keep a look out for items that have a very low starting price but are worth a lot more. I see this all the time.

Try quest rather than doing instances, get your gear from instances but try level doing quests, for the gold. If you get a boost, then that's great as more than likely most of the items that drops will not be needed by the booster.

Bag space: Very very important. Get the biggest bags you can afford. This will save you in the long run. Imagine you are in an instance and oyu have to delete items in order to take more... that's lost gold. Also the time it takes you to go back to a vendor, more lost gold.

Always search for people who do enchants, cut gems and craft you items for no fee. They do exist, belive me :) I don't charge people for this service, I understand that people need a little help from time to time.

When you get an item, like a rare pet, ask yourself if you really need it, what would you rather, the gold or the pet?

One little trick I used to use was buying pets from a vendor, say for 5G and sell them on the AH for 30G, (I forget the exact prices, but it was something like this), horde will want to buy them and there are a lot of ignorant people who are unaware that the pets are available for a lot less... Remember only to put 2-3 pets up at any one time.

I also get ore and eternals after a while, craft some cheap craftable items and disenchant them, I sell the materials for a lot more than the item or original materals are worth.

Overheal, with experience you will learn what sells on your server. Be it certain gems, craftable items, or enchanting materials. People are always leveling professions so there will be a demand for low level materials too, you can make a lot from this. I guess it's what you really want. I would suggest mining and herbalism. They have always worked for me for gold. Don't expect to make thousands over night, it's like a small snowball at the top of a gentle slope. You know?

If anybody has any other tips or what not, please do share...

Oh yea, almost forgot. I don't do this myself but I really should. uncut gems are worth less than cut gems, generally speaking. So you get a red gem, cardinal ruby, uncut it is 120-140G but if you cut it into a gem that is in high demand like 20 strenght, 39 spell power, they can go for up to 190G on my server. Find a jewel crafter that will do this for you. It's free money.

A great gold maker is friends... befirend people with professions, you will get your stuff for free if you have the materials in most cases. Or you could join a guild.

    Hope this helps a little...

OK well im Kairó of Kilrogg if anyone wants to come over and check my achieves or look me up. I have alot of Chars so I have covered all professions and have a few gatherer characters. Atm i only have 20k as I bought alot of epics for my rogue and druid over the weekend along with some uldar patterns to make my other alts some gear for when I level them up. Never let myself go below 20k as I like having a bit to blow if ever i see anything that i want to buy.

    Kairo - Jc'er & Blacksmith (Level 80 Main)
    Vemi - Enchanter & Engineer (Level 80)
    Akio - Tailor & Alcamist (Level 80)
    Bronagh - Herbalist & Inscription (Level 80)
Ailis - Leather worker & Skinner (Level 70)
    Onoco - Miner & Skinner (Level 77)
    Bubblina - Herbalist & Skinner (Level 60)
    Shadlow - Miner & Skinner (Level 70)
    Rhene - Enchanter & Herbalist (Level 61)

Not all of them are max level yet as you can see.

Ok what do I do to make cash.

    Jewelcrafting
On Kairo I check the ah every day for cheap ore - Saronite is the type i do be after or cheap Titanium Ore which is very rare to find at a decent price. I only ever pay 12-13g for a stack of 20. I prospect this and sell the Blue gems cut and the green gems uncut.

The Blue gems sell from anywhere between 15g to 90g once cut on my server & the uncut go from 1g to 10g for the chaldoney ones.

I buy alot of cheap eternals also the Eternal Shadows and Eternal Earths there is a pattern for Jewelcrafters to make rings called Shadow Might Rings - http://www.wowhead.com/?spell=58146 - these only Disenchant into 3 things - Dream Shards, Infinite Dust & Greater Eternal Ess. Max i will pay for these eternals is 8g for the earth and 5g for the Shadow reason being is I know the risk of this - Some times you can get 1 Inifinte dust which sells for 5g on my server or you can get 5 which sell for 25g from one disenchant so this is only profitable when you are doing a bunch of them. When you get 2+ Greater Eternal Ess from one DE you are laughing as they are like 19g each on my server atm.

Other profitable things from Jewelcrafting is the little green quality gems you can cut the Bloodstone ones sell from 5g to 12g for the regular ones and up to 20g for the perfect ones. If the mats for the epic rings are cheap on your server then buying them and making the rings can be quite profitable. For example on Saturday I bought the mats for the Spellshock ring for 400g I had some of the eternals myself already and some of the dragon eye's already from my daily cut so it was extra cheap to make. I sold the ring for 1200g.

Meta gems - Cheap to make insta profit. Eternal air and Eternal Fire are about 22-25g but the gems they can be transmuted to can be sold for up to 100g. When i get home il post the names of the ones that sell best.

    Blacksmithing
I only ever make cash from this by making epics or by making belt buckles. It's a pretty hard profession to level and the only reason I have it maxed on Kai is for the weapon in TBC and I kept it just for the extra two Gems Slots you can put in your gear now. I was in one of those hard core guilds before i moved to horde so i was very picky when i choose her professions to max out her dps.

Anyways again I only make the epics when the mats are cheap and there isnt any in the auction house already. I do buy the epic patterns when i see them cheap also as you can make some decent cash from nice people tipping you for making their gear. Main reason I buy them though as i said already is for my alts though and so we have a crafter in guild that can help others.

Belt buckles if you gather the mats for these yourself can bring anywhere from 60g to 120g depending on the auction house. I tend to only craft these when they are expensive.

    Engineering
Only thing that makes money on my server from this is Scopes and ammo. The odd time I've sold the epic gun with the socket to warrior tanks but thats it really. Another hard to level but fun profession to have.

Forgot about the mote extractor this is a great tool to use while wandering about in shol Basin you can get a bunch of eternals an hour if you keep checking the area. Eternal fire is the most common i get in the area.

    Enchanting
After Jewelcrafting this is the other big money maker for me. I send every green or blue i get to Vemi to DE and sell the mats. I have made huge profits from making and selling the Stamina Wrist enchant on the AH Also. Costs about 60g to make free if you gather the mats yourself and sells for about 150g to 200g.

Spell power or other low mat cost weapon enchatns are crazy money to so make em and sell em in the ah - Alts always buy them. Crusader enchant is another huge profit maker. Run Strateholme a few times on your own and get the orbs needed to make is and the shards and you can make up to 300g for one enchant as this can be put on the heirloom gear so people will pay alot for it. Icewalker enchant for boots is also another great seller.

I dont know why but people are very silly when it comes to the above enchants the mats cost feck all to buy and get someone to do for you but people will buy them for the convience or because of not knowing anything about the profession.

    Tailoring
Another easy to gather mats for profession but not such a huge money maker anymore. Easy to sell things are the threads sell for alot if you can gather mats. The lower level ones ( level 70 i think) you can only get about 15-20g for but the mats to make them you will have picked up while leveling so worth saving up and selling for a bit of cash.

Things like the bolts of frostweave sell for alot also as do the frostweave bags if again you can gather the cloth yourself you only need the infinite dust and the thread as a cost for making. These bags sold up to 150g a bag on alliance not sure how much on horde yet but anything over 60g is a nice profit if ya want to make some to level up.

Cloaks are made by alot of people but if there is none in the ah they are easy enough to make and always sell to people leveling alts.

The pvp level 78 gear always sells also and is seldom in the ah so when theres none u can charge up to 150g a piece and your nearly always sure it will sell fast. The mats for there i think are just crysallised water air and fire i think which can be gathered pretty easy so if you are willing to grind the cloth and the eternals you can make alot of cash.

Sorry cant remember the name of gear only made two sets of it on saturday cant believe i forgot already but it does sell well.

Again these are sellers when there is none more then you can always flog em for a good price like the gems and enchant mats.

    Alchamist
As my main is a Jewelcrafter I spec'd Akio transmute spec and when it works the profits are HUGE. I make an epic gem every cool down and every time i have an eternal air or fire I make the meta gem gems. I have had several 8 procs and one 13 as you can imagine chi ching is the word. Any procs over 2 are rare but they are nice. I send the gems off to kai she cuts and sell asap.

Knowing someone that is spec'd for elixirs and someone that is pot spec is great if you get different people in your guild as each spec you can have a great money making racket :)

Elixirs like Spell Power, Hit, Attack, Precision, Mana Per 5, Health per 5 etc always sell the price is what you need to be checking before you craft though. I always craft the lower required mat ones so i can make a good selection with what herbs i have. I dont really bother making the health and mana pots anymore as they are quite easy to obtain for people you dont make alot of cash anymore for them. I just sell the ones i collect that i dont need.

Flasks if you can get mats yourself are worth making other wise it can be more profitable to sell the mats instead.

    Leatherworking
The patchs and the cloaks are the only real money maker I have here.

The pvp gear requires Eternals instead of Crysallized mats so costs more but does sell if you can be assed to farm the mats. Once you have skinning as a profession along with this you can make alot of cash if you are willing to grind the other mats to make the rogue/feral druid pvp gear.

They nearly always sell for over 100g a piece. Leather prices go up and down so much though you really need to keep an eye on how much the mats could sell for on their own to make sure you can get the most for your work.

The epic patchs and the cloaks are usualy low in stock on the ah so again if you can farm the mats or buy them cheaply you can make alot of cash.

    Inscription
This made me loads of cash when it first came out but at present it doesnt make alot on my server. If you can farm the mats to make the cards then you have a good chance of selling them but it is very rare to get the expensive cards. The lower decks sell for up to 30g a card though on my server for people trying to get the insane title so i tend to make these more.

I normally make alot of the lower level glyphs as they seem to sell better then the level 60+ glyphs as there are less people trying to level at the early stages then people trying to get their last few training points. DK glyphs always seem to sell fast so I usually make most the ones available nd try to sell them. Again though check the auction house it can take a while but if you are willing to spend the time to make the cash check each glyph u can make and just craft the expensive ones. Undercut people but up to 5g for the expensive ones - yes some still sell for like 40g so if your not greedy and you'l sell em fast.

I sell the Inks when they are expensive also or trade ones at the vendor for the expensive ones.

The offhand level 77 crit book sells well but if there are a few already in the auction house I wouldnt bother making them.

    Gathering professions

    Mining
Gems and ore sell for alot. If you are leveling always make sure to grind alot of the lower level ores like truesilver, gold, Mithril and Thorium. These sell for silly money and if you have a profession like JC'ing prospecting these ores and selling the gems can sometimes make you even more cash. Gems like Jade, Huge Emeralds, Diamonds etc are selling on my server for up and over 20g each considering you can get several from a prospect of 5 ore definatly worth checking it out.

Primals and Eternals lower forms are also worth selling when you have the 10 form as people will always need them for level professions. You can only get these in outlands and northrend level ores so keep that mind.

    Skinning
Leather can make you alot of cash if you are clever. The lower forms like light wont sell for that much but once you get to medium and thick you will find people will buy them for up to 5g or more depending on how much is the in AH. When you get the Rugged leather you will start making alot of cash. If you have a leather worker and know an enchanter make the Rugged Leather Headbands. They Disenchant to some really rare and expensive materials for enchanters. These will sell as they are needed for some lower Twink enchants and also for people leveling enchanting as they are a quite hard to acquire. Cant remamber the names of the Mat again il edit when i get home and have the names.

When you get to Outlands in Nagrand skin as many snakes and Clefthoofs for the scales and the leather as they to sell well. Any dragons you come across also skin for the scales as they sell well.

Once you hit Northrend you have a chance to get an arctic fur from nearly all the skinnable mobs so make sure you dont miss any and to keep an eye out for other people killing mobs and leaving behind skinnable corpses. These fur sell for up to 150g each on my server cheapest ive ever seen them was 75g.

Scales from Spiders and Dragons are also really needed and will sell for alot if you dont need them yourself for leatherworking. Neub chitin and Icy Dragonscales they are called, these are used for alot of the uldar and TOC epic gear so you will sell them.

    Herbing
Once you get to the level 25 areas you will start getting the good herbs to start flogging. The lower stuff will sell but don't expect more then about 3g a stack. Once you get briarthorn and up you can sell some stacks for over 20g each as people need for leveling the other professions.

It is so easy to herb to so always keep an eye along edges of hills and along water ways for some extra money makers. Frost lotus when you reach Northrend are rare but you can get up to 60g on my server for one so always herb anything you see.

With herbing like mining you cant be afraid to have a wander about you will find mining and herbing nodes in the strangest places. If you an addon called gatherer you can track all the nodes you have gotten things from before and you can always work out a lil route to check around when you are in that area again.

    Cooking
Cooking is a great extra way for making cash but only at the higher levels really. In Northrend the patterns you can learn and the mats you will come across while leveling can be great money makers though you really need to be doing the daily each reset so you can get the full cash income from this secondary profession. Spell power, Crit, Hit, Man Per 5 etc all sell for silly cash some days so I always keep an eye on what the prices are and sell anything i can make easily. If you cant be assed cooking then just doing the daily and selling the spices you get from the tokens and the bag alone can bring in some nice cash to.

    Fishing
If you dont want to level cooking then leveling fishing alone and selling all you fish up can bring in alot of cash. People leveling cooking that havent coped to level fishing with it will spend alot of cash on the fish you pop in the auction house as there are alot of gaps in leveling cooking that are reached easiest by cooking fish.

When you hit Northrend is when you can see huge profits - Fish that create the fish feasts can sell up to 50g a stack on my server. Salmon, Musselback sculpins and nettlefish i think are the names. You also have the chance to fish up a mount for yourself in Northrend and some greys to flog along with motes and Crystallized primals and eternals. The fishing daily to rewards some nice cash as well as some valuable items, gear and even epic gems. If you do the Outlands ones you have a chance to do a daily that gives you lil baby croc pets to.

    Patterns
These are easily overlooked but can bring in some huige profits. If people are aiming for the cooking achievements there is a line that rewards you for how many cooking receipes you have. People will pay stupid money to get the last one or two they need to finish the line if they are achievement whores like myself. :)

When leveling make sure you check each vendor you come and across and buy any rare patterns and receipes. The patterns could be rare ones that make leveling a profession easier to keep an eye on the materials or regents part of the receipe to know whether to buy more then one. For example a white pattern for a tailoring shirt that only requires 2 mats someone might buy to level with so buy a few of them if they are cheap one that requires a load of mats wont sell as well in theroy so only buy 1 and see how well it sells first.

The Cooking ones though just watch out for common ones cos they wont sell for much so avoid them but ones you havent seen before buy a few of them and put one at a time in the ah and you will probably be able to sell some of them for up to 45g or more. The ones from desolace the caravan guy for example can sell for over 60g each as people need a few of them to max the cooking pattern achieve. The deviate fish one from wailing caverns if you are lucky enough to get it or mad enough grind it can sell for up to 250g as it is quite rare.

    Wierd white quality items
Just because you haven't come across an item before doesn't mean you should just vendor it or delete it. Some white qaulity items like Scorpid Blood, Murloc eyes, Fangs, Claws etc can be quite vaulable. They might noit sell for crazy cash but if you can sell them for up to 10g a stack its worth checking. Alot of these items are needed by crafters like teeth and claws and again these items can help people level a profession cheaper then normal so people will spend a few g on these items if it works out better for them.

What I do when im leveling is make sure i have a bank character and anytime i pick up something i think might be worth keeping i just send it off to that character. I log her once or twice a day then and empty the post she is always left right by a post box and ah so its easy to check the bits and bobs. Check post up on ah if it looks good or isnt there and see what happens. If its on the ah for a silly cheap price i just vendor then.

If you have auctioneer you can run a check on your characters that will scan the auction house and put a price by anything you pick up so you will know on your main whether its worth it or not but sometimes it worth checking if you dont run that scan at least once a week in case there is a sudden need for that item.

    Last bit of Info
I know these might sound silly but i have bought all my 80s their epic flying skill, I've bought them some of the best BOE gear in the game, they all have great enchants, gems etc and even rare pets. I don't just make the cash to save it all up and go oo look i got 100000000k lol I spend it as i get it but if anyone doubts log over to kilrogg and you can check my cash stats on my achieve list.

I know i have alot of characters and high level ones to make alot of cash but even if you only have one character and you make use of your professions and secondary professions you can make a fortune. It takes time effort and even patience so dont expect to make 10k the first day but if you try you can make like me 10k every few days by using these tactics.

If anyone else have more tips feel free to post as Id love to know more and if anyone has more easy ways of making cash let us know :)

    Damn!

Im gonna Thottbot a lot more things now.

They might not sell for crazy gold but just selling stacks of leather gloves - they do sell, especially if you offer a good rate. I had an enchanter yesterday buy out a whole stack of 15 of my embossed gloves. Racked me a good 3g which aint a bad day for a 22 toon.

Stay the hell away from thottbot, its owned by some gold selling company, alot of people have reported getting keyloggers just from visiting that site. Wowhead and wowwiki ftmfw tbh.

@OP very nice posts, thanks for taking the time to put that all down :)

Oh and a tip ill add, i saved up 150 EoT's on my huntard, 60 on my priest, 60 on my warrior, 120 on my warlock and 50 on my DK, bought a **** load of crusader orbs which sell for 1.8k each atm and are slowly selling them off. Reason im sellign them slowly is that is i put 30 of them onto the AH at once it will saturate the market and lower the price.

    HIHI 54k gold.

Crusader orbs sell for very little on our server, even less than frozen orbs did when crusader orbs weren't around. Made a good bit on frozen orbs and abyss crystals before they crashed.

Ive sold nearly everything that I DE. ther is a guy on my server who is trying to corner the enchanting market.... so what I do is hold off on all my stuff until I have a bank load of shards and essences and hit the bank in one big splurge. I spent about 2hours standing there pricing and buying and repricing just to get him to rebuy me back out of it.

Was a nice duel buying his stuff then putting it back up along with mine for about 2/3g more than he had it... Then he bought them all back so withign 2 hours i had made about an extra 500g.. ended up with 1.7g in 2hours :p

Actually tidy profit to be had in the begining by selling some of your engineer crap that you dont need currently. I know I might regret that later but I just dont have the bank space for all that shyte. A stack of Whirring Bronze Gizmos is better to me in coin at the minute.

I wouldnt stop levlling your mining if your running out of space creat a 'Bank Character' ; Basically a character at lvl1 that you just leave in your capital and you can post him all your mats and trade items and use his bank slots.

If you do stop levelling it then it will eventually be a catch 22 situation.. I ran into that problem with enchanting. I gave up on it for awhile so much so that then after i got above 50 or so I couldnt even DE anything anymore as their DE level was too high and I hadnt levelled it up. So then had to go buy loads off the AH and spend loads of money the very thing I was trying to prevent doing... *sighs*

Great thing about enchanting mats is that everyone needs them. You can put them up for 2 days without paying (only paying the % when they sell), and you never have to try to undercut. Eventually someone will buy your stuff, or people will see the higher prices and try to get some of that extra cash out of greed. One of the only things i've seen selling that you can keep the price where you want it so easily.
