Commadore Amiga 1200

I want to develope a game for the Amiga 1200, is there anyone that can point me in the right direction of where to start. Just from memory i think you can develope for it using C or assembly or a mix of both, I could be wrong, can anyone confirm this?

You can program it in C or assembly.
vbcc, gcc or a few commercial no longer supported compilers.
The starting point used to be the Amiga Developer CD 2.1, but the german distributer no longer supplies it. Perhaps an ebay search?

I don't know whether equivalent info is contained in kit provided by amiga.com.

For simple slow games there were commercial programs like AMOS which allowed games to be put together with Basic.

I'll leave out the why.
