We are due to move out of our rental accomodation this week and just noticed that the term written on the lease is the beginning of November 2008 for 12 months. We have been in the house since the beginning of October 2008 (and paid for that month) so what was written on the lease was originally wrong, whether by typo or agent pulling a fast one.
Its signed ,damage done and its gonna be a bit tough to wriggle out of.

I am well aware we didn't properly read the lease before signing which is a major mistake so spare me from such comments please.

We don't wanna to hang around for the month either.

What we are thinking of doing is act normally and go through the moving out process and try to get the deposit back this month. This is with the hope that the landlord doesn;t notice the wording of the lease,he's a bit absent minded so its not beyond him .

    Does anyone else have ideas.

For clarity, when do you plan to move out?

Talk to them, say you have been there a year, explain what you plan to do and ask them is there any issues, e.g. do they want to do any inspections, etc. It may be sensible to put this in writing.
