Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

A client of ours rang with an issue with their AV (Kaspersky) updater. Basically it is hanging on 0%, and they can not run updates. They also cannot open Internet Explorer.

The thing is, I can log in remotely to their pc no problem, but can then see the problems they are talking about. They have two network cards on the machine. One for our network (retail management system networked to tills) and the other for internet access.

The TCP/IP settings for the internet are set as normal (auto assign IP). I ran ipconfig and it returned another IP address. I entered this instead of the auto assign but still had no luck.

Any ideas as to what it might be? I also exited completely out of Kaspersky and attempted to open IE but still no luck.

    Any suggestions appreciated!

Sorted it actually. Turns out it was trying to get out through a proxy for some reason, so just reverted back to normal and seems fine now.

would also have suggested to make sure there was no gateway IP address set up on the internal card TCP/IP settings

Some pc virus sets a proxy afaik , so all the traffic can be snooped - might be some help to you.

Might be better to have a second PC there for internet etc and use that PC just for the management system and avoid similar or worse problems in the future ?

And a KVM so the same keyboard/mouse/screen could be used :
