At least 128 people were killed when Guinean troops opened fire on opposition protesters on Monday, rights groups and opposition figures claim. Earlier police said 87 people had died, but local activists say hospital data has confirmed a much higher toll.

That's terrible. Visited Conakry some time ago.

Dangerous little corner of Africa, keep an eye on it for us.

Killings committed by the state without any hint of prosecution, is it a crime?

Pretty horrifying state of affairs there. Is there any chance the perpetrators will be brought to justice?

Because of distance and its location, we aren't supposed to give a crap, because they're "them". At least I think that's what he's getting at.

Not a hope in hell, accidents not counting. The shower that ran the place as "socialists" lined their pockets and kept the masses beaten down, and the ones that replaced them and introduced "capitalist" principles carried on more or less where they left off. Its an awful shagging place.

Thats really sad, but then it took forever for them to get Bashir, and that was due to a lot of people making a lot of noise the world over. So, its not too surprising.

I don't know, I wasn't an eye witness to this event.

Were they looters maybe or something.?Like a judge I would need both sides of any story before making a judgement.

Hmmmmm, looting that justifies 128 dead.....in a country run by a dictatorship....where on another occassion 150 were shot dead after a protest march.....Yep, theres two sides to that one all right.

Can't really remember saying anything justified anything.

I am merely querying the facts of the matter.
