coz he is one of the best passers in the team. but i do think we should take insua off, aurelio to left bak, gerrard to cm, yossi behind torres and riera on the left...

Has to go down as one of the worst 45 minutes of European football under Rafa. Lucas must have given the ball away 10 times. I dont see why we are playing with Aurelio and Lucas in midfield when we could easily stick Gerrard in there and have Riera---Beanayoun---Kuyt behind Torres.

Also thought Babel deserved a start after his recent performances. Hes certainly not gonna get it against Chelsea so should have got it tonight to keep up his momentum.

Na I'd keep Yossi on. I agree that Aurellio needs to be taken off but I just can't see how what we have could change the game.... we need someone on the ball. Lucas is getting the ball from the back 4 and staying in the same fúcking area of the pitch. As a CM he should be spreading the play from the back....

Not that mental, he played there for Valenica under Rafa quite a bit. Not that I would have picked that MF by a long chalk. I'd get Insua off, drop Fabio to LB, Gerrard to MF with Lucas and put Yossi right side, Riera left and play Kuyt with Torres

I hope they are fit enough to keep the pace up or they are going to fall back into their own half and Torres will end up getting a goal.
Although I like the defender who is keeping his eye on Torres. He is attacking the ball before Torres can get it and control it and do some damage...

Indeed. Liverpool have been poor enough but Fiorentina are restricting their options in the final third extremely effectively and breaking at a ferocious pace.

Was worried about this match (the group also) and I am not overly surprised to see us under pressure. Plenty of time to turn things around though.

Poor selection from Rafa. One decent display at Pompey doesn't make Aurelio a CM. We might get away with it against Leeds but this is a different level.
Lucas has been appalling. His worst display in months.
I'm not even going to mention the defense.

Action:
Riera on for Aurelio, Gerrard drop back. After 15 minutes bring Babel on for Kuyt or Benny.

Fiorentina and Jovetic in particular are playing great, Liverpool not so, really missing Masch. Anyhoo, we've been here before so I'm hopeful of a 2nd half comeback. Need a early goal.

He is missed for sure but his ball retention and passing are not great. Masch can break it up but he cant orchestrate well.
