Any more credible source for that? I refuse to accept anything located beside a link to a film which describes how World War III began.

That Anthony Coughlan guys must find it difficult to get out the front door safely, anyone wearing blinkers that size is surely in serious danger.

I asked for a credible source not Coughlan's own website :pac: Good try though.

Lol, so the only evidence that this actually exists is his own webpage and other conspiracy pages?

To be fair to Coughlan, whether you're a fan or not, he's campaigned against everything to do with the EEC since the early 1970s so he's definitely consistent. In other words, he's always been a crank, ever since his evolution at the more stringent side of socialism.

I can appreciate that, in fact I've always been a bit of a crank myself. Though I still probably wouldn't have hung out with Dessie Greaves and become involved with the Wolfe Tone Society as I only fill the required amount in the crank jar, probably not in the republican or true socialist jars. Given that his background is marxist socialism though, of course he's going to be against the Treaty. Being for it would be like a government minister being against it.

On the downside, he's making claims about legal breaches by the European Commission without any evidence beyond his say-so (and given that the socialist revolution is as likely to happen in my mind as the second coming of the Messiah I'm unsure of his say-so). Also, he's not a lawyer.Actually he's got less legal training than I have - he used to be a lecturer in social policy, not law. Maybe he brushed up on it a bit, I don't know, but his pimping of a press release on wiseupjournal isn't worth anything more than me doing it. I haven't done it but then I haven't opposed (or as an aside promoted) everything to to do with the EEC/EU since 1973.

You might classify this as an ad hominem attack but us cranks always recognise each other and can't help but point it out. And Anthony Coughlan has been a pure Meldrew since he was younger than I am now. I'd start writing press releases but merely being a crank isn't enough and that's why the papers probably won't take notice of this either. Shame really, I'm too old to be on You're A Star and won't be old enough to be a Coughlan-league crank for another 20 years or more, even if I joined all the crank societies tomorrow morning.

I could ignore this thread but I have respect for my fellow cranks. Some day too I will unleash the hounds of my crankdom and have youngsters linking to my tirades on the Internet like auld Coughers, who's right up there with the late Cruiser for tirade-capacity. And when I do, all will be well.

Seriously, as it happens he's a committed Eurosceptic but that's by the by as it's a perfectly reasonable point of view if that's the one you have. However, he's a pure Meldrew. He's been one of the people that have convinced me that full time crankery isn't a good life to lead. When he dies, he'll come back to haunt the undertaker because his coffin wasn't square enough. Someone else go through his complaints because I just can't take the man, not in this universe. And I like everyone who isn't an idiot.
