Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Equipment:

    Canon EOS-30D x2

    Canon EF 50mm f/1.8 II
    Canon EF 28mm f/2.8
    Canon EF-S 17-85mm IS USM

    Cheap, no-brand fisheye lens adaptor

My flashgun is winging its way to the seller for replacement.

Portrait subjects are three three year-old girls and a newborn baby boy. There isn't anything interesting enough in the neighborhood for me to break out the IR kit.

    Project suggestions: Go.

Everyday objects in natural light (window light) spoons, forks, knives .You can get some nice shadows with these placed at the right angle.

Experiment with light and it will give you great knowledge in the field later, even for still life

Preparing food, cooking, baking... with helpers. You won't have a dull moment and there will be group shots as everybody sits down to enjoy a meal.

The world through the eyes of a three year old. Give the girls the camera and let them at it :D

Do one of those 'me sitting everywhere taking to myself' type shots. If you have photoshop, that is. It'd be great craic and would improve your PS skills and definately your patience! I speak from experience!

Order yourself some extension tubes online and pair them up with your 50mm to get some shots of small things (like I did here - excuse the self-pimp link :) ). Macro photography on the cheap and lots of fun too.
