Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Once again Metro has a photo challenge, this time for the following three categories:
    People, Places & Climate Change.

There is one thing in T&C that confuses me:
Your photos cannot be digitally manipulated by any software

Does it mean that I cannot upload a photo that has been shot in RAW?

That seems a very strange condition. As you say if you shoot in RAW then every image must have some manipulation as you really just start with data.

I wouldn't take it so literally!. Digital manipulation, not digital processing is most likely whats meant.

    I just phoned them.

They do mean that you can adjust Brightness, Contrast, White Balance, Saturation etc.

You cannot add or remove elements from the image, apply cloning etc.

Reading between the lines it means that you can work on the pixels which are there, without moving them.

    @ CabanSail
Did you by any chance ask about this as well?
To be considered for the prize the photo must have been taken in any city of your country of origin

    And on the other hand
Entrants must be based in Ireland

Does that mean, I would have to submit a photo taken in Germany or you one taken in Australia but as we live in Ireland we may enter the irish competition? (Metro is not available in Germany anyway)

That confirms how I read the terms & conditions (see above)

I think the Country of Origin would mean the one where you reside & that particular Metro is published.

I wonder if they actually mean their rules or is it like the Late Late competition where they are just ignored?

If last year is anything to go by, best off shooting with a camera phone....the % of camera phone/camera phone quality images that made it to the top 100 was ridiculous. I'm not taking away from the good images that made it....I'm saying there were some absolutely dire, terrible, poorly composed, badly exposed images with noise, pixelation and bad colour reproduction.
