    Hi all

I have inputted the solar water heating and am getting quite a poor result on the cert. Over 20k of upgrades and still only a C2, hoping to get to a B

Basically on the energy requirements tab - fuel data - main water heating system - select

I have inputted Heating oil as the boiler is (or was) the primary water heating solution. My question now is can i choose 'None' as the solar panels are the main heating source after the upgrade?

What is the area of the solar pannels? As far as i know the solar pannels will not be enough to heat all the water needed through out the intire year so the boiler would still be the main heating source. I no that they can be set up to contribute to the space heating but I dont no how to deal with that in DEAP.

have you set the overshading factor to 1 ??

this obviously isnt a new house...

you cannot input none into the 'fuel' tab if and when you have inputted a bolier in the 'water heating' tab.

    DEAP manual section 4.4 states:
"Solar Water Heating A solar water collector coupled with solar water storage reduces the fuel needed for DHW (see Appendix H).
The solar water storage can heat the lower part of a multi heat source cylinder or as a separate solar cylinder.
Solar water heating cannot provide all of the hot water requirements of a dwelling and a main water heating fuel type must be specified at all times"
