Do I Watch Too Much TV?

This week with the return of US shows, I have been asking myself this.

Sunday - Desperate Housewives
Monday - House
Thursday - Flashforward
Friday - Dollhouse

Along with watching local stuff like The Apprentice on TV3, and not allowing for Lost and Damages, and Doctor Who which I will watch when they come back after Christmas. I also finished a marathon session to watch The Wire on boxset over the last month or two.

So what do you watch, and do you think it's too much/ about right?

Those TV networks....one quality show after another...why wont they let you live....if they only stumbled once, just once

Seriously though you dont sound too bad....youre lucky you actually have something to watch on TV...i just cant get into serials or box-sets or anything like that...i dont have the attention span

Heroes
Scrubs
CSI
CSI Miami
CSI New York
Bones
Criminal Minds (On episode 17 now)

Not to mention about 12 films as well.

I haven't looked for a job yet and it does be boring during the day.

I think you watch too much current TV!

By that I mean, TV these days, In my opinion, is not really worth watching.....bar Curb Your Enthusiasm (great show).

Dvd boxsets of the Simpsons and Seinfeld ftw.

I never got into things like Lost, CSI, Dexter, Prison Break, Two and a half men etc.

Old TV is where it's at.

I watch quite a bit, night owl myself, i like watching the new eps. as they drop....it's fun!

I probably watch more than three times the stuff you do OP and yes, I do watch too much TV

. I tend to watch most of the new US shows that premiere in September/October but this only lasts for a few weeks - by the end of October, I've either given up on all the crap (if I hate it after 3 episodes, that's it for me) and a lot of stuff these days doesn't make it past 6 episodes anyway... And with a number of shows that I'm not too invested in, I just watch them while browsing online, etc rather than giving my full attention to them...

True that... I've really gotta create some way of vetting media. Between the internet (damn you stumbleupon), music, movies, tv, games... et al I barely have a free minute.

Plus I also try to re-watch through old shows. On season 5 of Star Trek: TNG currently and nearly finished rewatching The Mysterious Cities of Gold. In work over my break I will usually watch 2 episodes of Southpark (can be streamed off the official website)

I guess previously I'd hear about a show on TV, watch the pilot, forget about it, then lose track. Nowadays media is so ubiquitous that there is no excuse for missing it. My DVR records all the episodes of a season as it airs without requiring me to keep track of it, and the internet, well lets face it, if you want to watch, listen or play some piece of media you will be able to find it.

I believe the OP is referring to the US airing - Sundays on ABC. I don't think the current season has started over here quite yet...

I just don't have enough time to watch half the things I want to. So I hoard and hoard in the hope that one day I'll get some free time. I've had to start being quite ruthless with new stuff, finding some ridiculous reason to write a show off just to get it off my must-watch list. Anyone else do that? What's the stupidest reason you gave yourself not to watch a show?

Richard will be on any minute now to tell you that it is the best thing since sliced bread and you must absolutely watch it

I really enjoyed the pilot but the rest of the episodes so far have been pretty cringetastic and the characters are getting stupid-er by the episode... Still watching it though, even though I down right hate musicals, it's a fun little show and I want to still see if it recaptures the "magic" of the pilot.

It's hard to tell if you'll like it or not, since it's different from pretty much anything else currently on.
