Digitalb card update

    Does a Digitalb card need to be left on Super Sport 1 at the start of every month to update or can I take the card out when trying to watch a different satellite ?

    Some do, some don't AFAIK.

    You'd know if you look at your subscription status. If it ends at the end of month, then you'll need to keep it on SS1 until you get the new update for the end of next month.

    If, like mine, it shows as not expiring til after your year, then you shouldn't need to (I didn't use mine last year for a continuous few months, and it still worked when I did decide to use again).

    I am using it in a darkbox and the info page says sept 09 - sept 10. I want to put it in a Dreambox 500s do you know if it will work in that ?

    Ah, if it says Sept 10, you might be safe enough (as I say, it works for me, though with a previous sub that only updated monthly, I HAD to be on SS1 at start of every month).

    It should work in DM500s, though it will depend on what software you have running for card reading. Personally, I know very little about any Linux hardware.

    Ok I will give it a go and see what happens. I know next to nothing about the linux neither though from what I have seen thm do they should be banned!!!!! :D
