Yes, Ireland really is that different.
Search for a Chateau in Ireland, what do you get?
    Nothing!

Would you like to estimate the cost of maintenance for that place?
    Heating?
Commuting time to the nearest city?

(No, the average-sized bungalow in Limerick isn't really that good a representative of what you can get for €600k in Ireland either)

    €600,000 is the stake.

Here's what you get in Limerick for your money:

Now, here's what you get in France for your money:

I know it doesn't change the point too much, but when buying in France as far as I am aware there are a lot of extra costs and taxes. These put up to 20% on purchase price.

Ya see the french just arent smart enough to cop on to the long term economic value of their properties.

Note that you will have to pay property taxes and wealth taxes in France.

I'm guessing 600k is bubble price and probably nowhere near that not.

But a better comparison would be a 2 bed apartment in the centre of a EU city compared to Dublin. I'm guessing the Dublin one would probably be twice the price, probably more. Yes property is still very much overvalued here, but if you want to make comparisons you should be taking the same type of property in roughly the same type of urban area (rural can have too many outside factors).

A house is worth what someone will pay for it.

Would anybody pay €600 for a 4 bed bungalow in Limerick? No. So whats the argument here? That Ireland has a higher level of dopes who still think its 2007? I'd have to agree on that one.
