They only give marks for cohesion in the option question.

But to answer your question, I'd say that the essay is basically about the formation of fold mountains/ volcanoes/ mid ocean trenches, etc. Earthquakes could probably be mentioned as well.

Yeah you won't get any marks for an opening paragraph on a 30 mark question, waste of time really. Just write an introductory line and then get straight main points.
