Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Hi folks,

    I searched the forum and found plenty of threads about the various Hong Kong retailers, but I have a question about this one in particular...

    Having decided to make the jump to DSLR, I'm looking to get the most bang for my buck and these guys seem great. I've even been told (perhaps incorrectly), that Kea will mark purchases as gifts...

    If you have used these guys in the past, can I ask, have you had to pay import/custom duty etc on your purchases? Seems some people have, others have not. I'm just trying to weigh up the pros and cons of buying from here.

    Thanks in advance, and if mods feel this thread is a bit dodge, by all means close away!

    Have bought my camera from Albert in Kea last year. Great communication and customer service; queries sorted quick. Camera works great...have no problem with recommending them... Hope that helps.;)

    So you want to talk openly on a public forum about avoiding the payment of VAT on purchases and you think the Mods may find it a bit Dodge..... :confused:

    It's been openly discussed in other threads in these very forums without moderation action. However, if those occasions were oversights, then I am all too happy for mods to act on this thread and close it forthwith.

    I certainly hope not. I am aware that the moderators have sanctioned people in the past for such discussions.

    It strikes me that your query can be answered simply with a call / email to kea in this regard albeit without specific knowledge of anyone on the forum.
