Music snobs are what make this forum great.

Yeah, well, you know, that's just, like, your opinion, man.

To be honest, this comes across far more snobbish than what you accuse red ice of. He's backed up all his points as to why he doesn't like the drums. Nothing snobbish about not liking something.

twas the way he was saying the were hyped and saying they were rubbish , the way the danced around and their simple sound etc !! thats why i said it :)
bernard sumner from joy division bearly knew how to play guitar when he first started off, so the simple guitar playing has proved to been good and music can be made from it!!it was the wa he was saying his replys and then the vampire weekend comment aswell , branding them rubbish etc ?

Yea, sorry i have to say i found them(vw) to be annoying and overall bad in every single way possible. If their next album is anything like the first i feel my point will be valid.

No need to be sorry, your entitled to your opinion. Was just wondering if you knew their 2nd album was already released.

MGMT just irritated me and i found their songs to be void of anything catchy (for me).

This related directly to the drums as like the previous 2 bands mentioned they will be no bodies(imo) in the near future. MGMT have already proven this.

Even if you don't like them, saying they will be no bodies is a bit much & isn't true. MGMT haven't proven this. Their second album is pretty good imo. I know it's got some bad press because it's a bit different but it's not a bad album. It charted well too (#2 in the US, top 5 here & UK) as did Vampire Weekend's album. Time will tell if The Drums are still around in a couple of years time or not but comparing them to those bands isn't right.

to be honest, i was trying to keep to the point, but when it came to the last couple of posts i was trying to be obvious about how off topic it went.

    Apologies!

I was introduced to The Drums via Florence and The Machine as she had them playing her support act in the Olympia on the 2nd of May. Thought they were a bit odd when I first saw them but I've really gotten into them since their album was released there in June. All the video's I have watched of them perform live are really strange. They didn't sound anything like that when I saw them perform. I personally preferred their live sound then to the recorded one, but when I tried finding any vids of their performances the lead singer puts on this strange deeper sounding voice...

Anyway, that didn't deter me from purchasing tickets for their gig in the Academy in December.

    ENOUGH.

Any more snide remarks about people's taste in bands will result in a ban.
