Picked up a copy for the xbox in Gorey at about 2.30. They had another 2 for the xbox and 3 for the wii. None for ps3.

Was in Tesco (the Cresent, Limerick) to my purchase Fifa 10 (PS3) was shocked to see the shelf empty, asked a sales assistant if their was any left, she told me they were all out of stock cos somebody walked in yesterday and bought 1000 (ONE THOUSAND:eek:) copies of it @ E35 each.(probably done all over the country, thats why so many Tesco have been sold out)

I presume it was one of the smarty holes in one of the other stores to sell them on again @ E49.99, E15 profit plus no-one can say they bought it for E35, Tesco are as much to blame as the purchaser, they should have twigged what was going on and put a customer limit on the amount any one person could buy.

    I don't believe that.

I have noticed ove rthe past few years every fantastic offer that starts on a thursday is always sold out even when i go into the store within a few hours of the offer "supposedly" commencing.

I believe this is all a scam where perhaps they have a limited few of a special price and this creates huge influx of people coming into the store. Tesco can laugh then as they know the majority of people attracted in will spend some cash on other items.

Never again will tesco con me into running in looking for those ridiculous offers.

    That's rubbish.
There is no way a Tesco's in Limerick would have 1,000 copies, probably not even a 1,000 copies in all Tesco's?
Anyway how would he pay for them, cash?
Hope he used his clubcard :D

Tesco in Square had 6 PS3's and 7 XBox copies at 1.30pm today.
This is after I asked the guy behind the counter and he said sold out but they might have some more on Monday.
As I was walking out, a manager said, hang on we might have a few copies on the shelf.
Turned out he was right, nearly missed it.

My friend tried to buy 2 copies in Tesco Dundrum and was told it was only 1 per customer, so his dad who was with him said he buy a copy and she wouldn't let him, saying his dad was the same customer as him. It was a bit ridiculous.. So I can't see someone going in and buying 1000 copies and nothing being said!

Thats fair enough Homer probably happens alright but I.M.H.O. thats not the case here, if it wasn't true why make up a ridiculous story why not just tell me they were sold-out, she was a Sales Assistant not management or anything like that, twas no skin of her nose, I.M.H.O. she was telling the truth.she had no reason to lie to me.

Also she was working in the clothes department, had nothing to do with the games side of it, told me as much when i 1st asked her about the games, i presume she was told by one of the check-out staff " i just had someone buy 1000 copies of the same game" that's why she could tell me about it.

I would say she meant 10 copies. No one branch would get 1000 copies.

Anyone know if Tesco Clare Hall have any left?

Just went to Maynooth and picked up a copy. They are selling them from customer service not from the normal shelves. The guy said they have plenty on all formats.

None in Clarehall yesterday evening! Guy in store said stock will be back in Monday.

Anyone know of city centre Tescos selling PS3 Fifa10?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 351 ✭✭donal.hunt

Currys are honouring their price match promise so I just picked up FIFA10 for PS3 for €31.50 (after I taught the sales dude how to subtract 3.50 from €35). =)

Note: It's €49.99 RSP in-store but they will match against Tesco. If you find the product in another store nearby for less than their price, they'll give you 10% of the difference as an added bonus*. They may or may not honour the 10% bit if you haven't already purchased the game but you should be able to hit up Currys (if it's not on the shelf, ask the checkout staff). :)

    Stock?
    - I was in the Blanchardstown store at 14:00 and got the 2nd last copy they had (i.e. they have 1 left).
    - you can check other stores by phoning 1890 400 001 (non-1890 numbers)

    * Note: I probably should have got a €1.50 discount off the Tesco price but considering the sales guy was having issues entering the Tesco price in the first place, I didn't hang around for him to work that one out. ;)

You could always try buying it from tesco online if you don't mind waiting a few days, should work out at around €27

Thanks for that, that'll be option 2 if they're somehow out of it tomorrow morning..

The price on the Tesco store has gone up to £37.96, but the price on the Irish online shopping (tesco.ie - no direct link as it forces you to log in first) is still €35. Add 4 euro delivery to that then.

I'm not sure if they are obliged to honour your order though.
    From Tesco T&C
"If for any reason beyond our reasonable control, we are unable to supply a particular item, we will not be liable to you. Please note that we will attempt to deliver substitute lines should selected lines be unavailable".

I wouldn't be too impressed if they showed up on the doorstep with Fifa 09 :D

Hard enough to find them on the Tesco site - don't search for FIFA - it won't work. Choose departments - ten e CDs DVDs and Games - then choose the format you want.
If you order 3 or more of them - you will be able to use this €10 Euro discount Voucher :) which more than covers the highest delivery charge.
(Also - you have an option at checkout to instruct them not to substitute any items :) - so if they have run out there will be no delivery and therefore no charge) Worth a try ? Nothing to lose.
