Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Is a room sealed boiler the one where it takes air from inside the house and you have to have ventilation?

What is the opposite called? I think it takes the air from outside the house.

    Clarification appreciated

    Thanks

If you think about it you have answered your own question!

Room sealed = no intake of combustion air from the room = Air for combustion taken from outside!!
(The appliance may still need ventilation for cooling - not for combustion!!)

Open flued appliances are the opposite of this.
If it is a gas boiler an open flued boiler is a thing of the past!!

^^ as stated. nearly all modern gas and oil boilers are room sealed. This is where gases are vented outside and air is drawn through what is called a balenced flue.

    Y U ASK.
