Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Actually was there any trouble after the match? I know the helicopter was overhead but I presume that woulda been there regardless as a precaution

I didn't hear of any trouble

When we (Bohs) came out of the ground after 30 minutes , we had to walk via a corridor of police.

I swear there were more cops than Bohs.

Some had riot gear and dogs. The traffic was held back. Tallaght was silent and looked like a ghost town. It was surreal like a movie scene from Robocop.

There were Garda vans blocking off the hotel and surrounding streets.

    Not a Hoop anywhere.
    Not one.
6,000 of them vanished into thin air.

There was an eerie silence and we were all down in the dumps after losing. We were escorted quietly out of town and dispersed.

I was at the match on friday and for the second half was sat on the sideline in front of the Rovers fans, ndo was going up and down that wing all night and I did not hear monkey chants once.

    Really.

It's standard police procedure after a well-attended football match. The well-attended bit may be a concept that you have had little acquaintance with in recent times.

If that actually is a racist chant, the one or two dickheads involved will eventually be caught, reported and no doubt banned. If not worse.

You must understand the difficulty involved in finding and catching a racist in a large crowd. It's not like over at your place where you can just pick him out from a squad photo.

To be fair, that video does pretty much confirm it, definite monkey chants.

    fair dues.

I know most Rovers fans are not like that but theres always a small number of dickheads who are and they drag down everybody.

The Garda did a good job.

I don't know where they hid you all.

    David Copperfield would have approved.

Most likely all in a q at the pay parking machines in the square!

Ridiculous situation that. 3 machines for a few thousand people. I parked in the plaza and was home and all in Blessington by the time my mate got to pay for his parking.

Have to say the Garda do a pretty good job getting everybody out of the area quickly. If only the Square could follow suit.

Another voice here for the Guards. They held us back, a bunch of gob****es were yelling abuse at them. People yelling that their salaries were a waste of money, that they were idiots, etc. The whole crown chanted "you don't know what you're doing" at one point. It was obvious they were only holding us until they could clear the outside of the ground, and that they did brilliantly.

They did a good job keeping us safe and they took a lot of abuse from some moronic Bohs fans. I hate to see people get abuse because they're just doing their job.
