I heard this morning from somebody who spoke to someboday who probably spoke to somebody else etc........ (I don't know why I'm posting this, ye probably already know) HMV are to open in MacDonagh before Christmas (I would assume in the Zavvi place). This would obviously give MacDonagh a much needed boost. I would like to quote it as gospel but you know how these stories do the rounds. Has anyone heard this or anything else about other stores?

I didn't hear this but it does seem a very logical move. There would be little fitting out to be done on the old Zavvi store I would imagine.
I hope it is true ;)

At least yours will have a HMV.
They are advertising jobs in Kilkenny now.

Hey, cheers seems to confirm they are opening. Management must have came up with a good deal to entice them in.
I thought Athlone had a much bigger new centre with M&S and many other flagships?

I've been in your white elephant in Athlone - I'd much rather have it in Kilkenny than McDonagh Junction. You've got Marks & Spencers, Easons, a Clarks shoe shop, a proper place for having a bite to eat along with the usual Bagel Factory/Gloria Jeans shtick and a better collection of clothes shops (Zara, H&M along with ones that are already in Kilkenny Next, Monsoon). It would be nice if HMV went into the Zavvi stores around the country that went bust. Heartbeat City just doesn't do it for me.

HMV would be great. We would have a decent selection of DVDs and stuff again.

From memory, I think Athlone's got a Tesco and an Aldi as well. Let them eat cake :D

Yes, a demand note instead of a CV looks way more professional or try a ransom note: if I you don't give me a job the dog gets it :D

What's your source? HMV say you've to be ready to work by the 26th,but you'd spend at least a few days kitting it out

Is it the old Zavvi unit in MacDonagh they are taking as well? Either way, it will be a huge boast the shopping centre and a big reason to go there more often.

Depends on the resoning. Might be an idea to ring them up and see why you were not successful.
