Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Hi,

I am going to be taking portrait shots of a model on a TFCD basis. For now, my primary aim is to build my portfolio. Is a model release form required?

Will you be using the photos commercially?

It might still be worth using one in case you change your mind down the line. Also it would help clarify to the model exactly what her rights are with regards to the images. Save any misunderstandings.

If you are going to use the images to promote yourself then get a release signed.

I've worked with about 15 models now over the last few years and I have model release forms for most of them.
Even on the first couple of shoots I got some excellent shots which I might use commercially one day so it's well worth doing.

On the down side, two of them tried telling me I had no right to use their pictures some months down the line so I reminded them both that I most defintely did.

A good tip is to get it signed before you take any pictures because models can be a funny lot, very friendly one minute, not at all the next.
