Been watching this for hours - these people are stunning athletes - never seen an IM event before. I'm surprised the lead athletes dont seem to have to rack their own bikes though - what's the rule here? I assume the athletes further down the field have to rack their bikes themselves??

At IM volunteers take every competitor's bike and then theres even someone on hand to help you get changed and tidy your clothes up as you change

Short teaser available here. Hopefully there will be some more highlights in the coming days.

Any word back from the Irish athletes on their performances?

I never knew this but from pgibbo's links

"One mile of running but a lifetime of embarrassment

As you probably know by now it started out as a way to poke fun at the Europeans strolling around Kona in the Speedos almost 12-years-ago now.
But today the 12th annual "Underpants Fun-Run" has grown into an annual charity event with over 400 underwear clad Ironman athletes running one mile in Kailua-Kona, Hawaii."

Hats of to all the Irish guys. Whilst not knowing liam, a winter spent with a proper swim coach overhauling his swim could see this guy absolutely smash the irish record - again.

He should just look at the improvements made by Gordo Byrn on the swim to see what can be achieved.
